The Mentoring Program Administrative Associate assists the Program Director in the development and implementation of the mentoring program for the Department of Labor Prisoner-Re-Entry Initiative, which matches volunteer community mentors with re-entry mentees one-to-one. The Mentoring Program Administrative Associate is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that supports and ensures program quality and performance related to recruiting, screening, matching, monitoring mentors to mentees.
Reporting to the Mentoring Program Director, the Administrative Associate will support all aspects of the mentoring program set forth below:
Duties
- Assist in performing and overseeing participant screening, training, matching, support and supervision, recognition, and closure activities
- Assist in developing and managing relationships with prisons, regional parole & probation offices, and community-based organizations
- Assist in implementation of an ongoing mentor recruitment plan, including ensuring excellent public relations and customer service and presentations to targeted organizations and events
- Complete other administrative duties and activities as needed by Program Director
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in social service and working within community organizations and the criminal justice system
- Responsible, dependable, energetic self-starter and commitment to a team approach
- Strong communication, administrative and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Valid Arizona drivers license, proof of auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work flexible hours
- Spanish speaking/writing a plus
Compensation
Starting range from $10.00 to $12.00 per hour DOE, plus a benefits package that includes holiday and vacation pay, medical, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement.
