Offender Programs

The Men in Transition program is our newest HUD funded Supportive Housing Program in Tucson, creating 12 male transitional beds to help offenders re-enter our community. It is a collaboration with Dorothy Kret & Associates (DKA).
The New Chance Program is a HUD funded SHP program in Tucson, creating 24 transitional beds, to include families, offering training, and housing. It is a collaboration with Pima County’s Jackson Employment, Primavera Foundation, and Arizona Housing & Prevention Services.
The Oasis Project is another HUD funded homeless Supportive Housing Program aimed to help those released from correctional facilities and shelters. It is a 6-month to 2-year program. To be eligible one has to be (1) homeless and (2) an offender. The program serves 16 single individual men and 8 families with scattered-site housing opportunities. It is a collaboration with DKA Inc. (Dorothy Kret & Associates).
Compass Re-Entry Program - The Old Pueblo Community Foundation, in partnership with Compass Health Care, Inc., offers the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) a new re-entry program for persons referred by ADC. The outcome of this program is successful re-integration of ex-offenders into the community, enjoying sober and healthy lifestyles, and thereby becoming productive members of society who enhance community safety. Casa Santa Clara Project - Applied Behavioral Health Policy at the Arizona State University, in collaboration with Old Pueblo Community Foundation and Compass Healthcare, expands and strengthens substance abuse and mental health treatment services to homeless offenders in Tucson, Arizona. The project combines two evidence-
based practices, Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), with a promising trauma recovery component Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM).

Prisoner Re-Entry Partnership (Project PREP) is a Department of Labor funded initiative to strengthen and support communities with returning large numbers of previously incarcerated individuals. Pima County has been selected as a project site, and through a collaborative effort of existing community-based agencies developed the PREP Project. Project PREP blends the expertise and resources of The Primavera Foundation, Old Pueblo Community Foundation, PHASE, Dorothy Kret & Associates and the YWCA.
